The Appaloosa is a breed of saddle horse native to the northwestern United States. The great peculiarity of these horses is their spotted dress. It generally measures from 5 feet to 5 1/2 feet at the withers for a weight of 900 to 1000 pounds. The Appaloosa is a horse with docile and quiet character, but who is also lively and receptive.
